I don't get it, it says it can hollow as deep at 8".  You can go that deep with almost any tool!  The Robert Sorby 2000 system gets you to at least 13" deep for a fraction of the cost and bulk.

well cheating aside, I really am impressed with the videos about this tool. On the down side the expense is unjustifiable unless you do hollowing work every day. I do sectional turnings and this tool would be a boon for my work. Still I can't justify the expense. On the upside, you don't have to be a turning expert to use it.

Cheating what? There are several projects that can only be done with very specific tool and deep hollowing tools are one of them. You got legs yet use a mean of transportation, is that cheating? No, you need to cover a bigger distance. For my projects I need to hollowing up to 20in deep sometimes more.

This hollow roller is amazing. I wish I could afford it, because i would definitly enjoy turning hollow vessels. This is a very interesting design. Love it!
